The Bar Fort Collins

The Bar also known as “Barcade” or “the Underground,” is literally right down the street from my house and I have never heard about it. Yeah I’ve passed it a few times but it was never something that caught my interest, until the other night. Out of all of the bars that I have been to so far, this is the only one that is completely packed on a Tuesday night. Since it is so close to student housing it makes for the perfect weekday hangout. If you are not in the mood to drink but your friends are, they have countless other activities for you to partake in including some arcade games, pool and foosball.  This bar also offers a unique bar design that allows the bar tenders to have more interactions with their consumers.  With an open oval design, late night bar goers have the optimal layout for premium bar service. Unfortunately, they do not serve any food at this particular bar, but that probably has to do with its placement that happens to be within walking distance to all food places off of West Elizabeth. This is definitely a must try bar in Fort Collins.

Old Town Distillery Takes over Luscious Nectar

The well-known slushy bar, Luscious Nectar prepares to take on the transformation to become a new distillery. The popular bar prepares to turn in their unique slushy’s in for all new liquor and become Old Town Distillery.

Luscious has been a big part of the nightlife in Old Town. According to Catlynn McLaughlin Luscious has always been a fun place to hang out and meet new people.

“It is a really cool bar, every time I go in there their are very chill people that like to have fun,” said McLaughlin.

She believes that it will be a good business plan for the distillery to come out with new liquor since one of Luscious’ charms is their unique and sweet flavored drinks.

“It (getting new liquor) would be good for them because they already have a lot of their own shots so it would be good for them to come out with their own liquor,” said McLaughlin.

Due to recent coverage of the change, Luscious has lost a lot of business because people think that they are already closed, but they and their avid goers are hoping for the bar goers to find them again once they reopen.

“I think that their business is definitely go to go back up when the new distillery opens because it’s a new name and remodel and people always want to check out new places here in Ft. Co,” said McLaughlin.

According to Nate Bell, an employee of Luscious Nectar for three-years this is going to be a complete makeover for the bar.

“We are already starting the renovation, but the new distillery is going to have a more Victorian feel to it and there is going to be a craft ‘satellite’ tasting room, although we will be keeping our late night Dj,” said Bell.

The goal is to have the distillery take over and all renovations to be done within a week of closing the current bar.

“The plan is to have a soft opening for the new distillery. They plan to turn it around pretty quick and have the distillery to open a week after closing,” said Bell.

The Yeti Bar & Grill

In the heart of Old Town square lays The Yeti Bar and Girl. Born out of the ashes of 100 Octane, The yeti has captivated many with its variety of draft beers and outside patio. The Yeti adds a unique flavor to the Fort Collins bar scene by catering their theme to sports events. During the calmer hours of the night they have couches upfront to give optimal viewing to their mounted big screen TV.  Another great aspect of The Yeti is their indoor/outdoor bar that caters to their covered patio to allow bar goers to enjoy the outdoors with their cold beers and company in any kind of weather.
